Let’s talk about trolls, shall we?

Lately I’ve been seeing tons of posts about trolls on the internet. I mean, it’s either someone posting a troll comment, or they’re posting to complain about the trolls in their comments.

(Lookee there. I got all my they’re/their/there’s right. But I don’t know why I always sound like I’m straight out the old west when I do that…)

Even the trolls are talking about trolls.

The thing is, as entrepreneurs that want to stand out and make a big impact in the world, the more famous we get the bigger target we make. And if we’re afraid of trolls on the internet, and especially in our comments section, we are going to have a hard time making a big impact.

Amy Landino has some great advice on trolls and your comments section in her Vlog like a Boss book, and she’s right that we cannot be afraid of our comments section. And that advice is true across every platform I have seen so far in this journey called entrepreneurship.

And the other truth is, if you have trolls in your comments, you also have something going on in your mindset around fame.

Whether it’s a fear of something, or a limiting belief about your worthiness you’ve got something trolling in there and drawing it to you out here in your comments.

The great news is that you can delete those comments just as easily as you can delete the ones online.

Take a look at those items you keep, especially in your office, because you should, or are “supposed to.” Obligation is a fear of judgement.

Just like your fear of your comments section is in large part a fear of judgment.

By decluttering your home of the things you “should” keep, and letting go of the sense of obligation they hold over you, you also release the limiting beliefs that draw the trolls to your comments section in the first place, to validate their existence in your mind.

What obligations do you need to declutter today to delete your fear of judgement and eliminate those trolls from your comments forever?
